What's in a complete kit?
Each complete kit contains the tool, the number of batteries in its name, and a charger. 2-battery kits come with a charger; 3 and 4-battery kits come with a dual charger so two batteries charge at once. Each listing shows the exact battery capacity and charger.
How many batteries do you need?
- 2 batteries — the right start for most people. One battery in the tool, one on charge.
- 3 batteries — for long days or high-draw tools such as blowers, saws and grinders.
- 4 batteries — for full days on site, several people sharing tools, or running two tools at once.
Choose your battery system first
If you or your team already use DeWalt, Makita or Milwaukee 18V batteries, choose the matching compatible kit so all your batteries and chargers swap between tools. Browse by system: DeWalt-compatible, Makita-compatible, Milwaukee-compatible.
Complete kit vs tool only vs combo kit
- [Tool only](/collections/tool-only) — the bare tool for batteries you already own.
- Complete kit — one tool with batteries and a charger.
- [Combo kit](/collections/pro-kits) — two tools sharing one set of batteries and a dual charger.

Adding more tools later
Once you own a kit, every further tool on the same battery system can be bought as tool only — usually the cheapest way to build a cordless set.
