Why switch to a cordless caulking gun?
A manual gun relies on your grip, so the bead changes as your hand tires and the cartridge empties. A cordless gun drives the plunger with a motor at a speed you set, which gives a more even bead, fewer stop-starts and much less hand fatigue — especially on long runs, overhead work and full days of sealing.
1. Match your battery system
Pick the DeWalt-compatible, Makita-compatible or Milwaukee-compatible version so it runs on the batteries you already own. New to cordless? Choose a kit that includes batteries and a charger.
2. Speed control
Adjustable speed lets you slow down for neat finishing beads around baths and worktops and speed up for long runs of glazing or construction sealant. Our Makita-compatible model has four speeds and our Milwaukee-compatible model has four adjustable speed settings; check each listing for its range.
3. Anti-drip and LED light
Our Makita-compatible gun has an anti-drip function that stops the bead running on when you release the trigger, so you don't waste sealant or leave a mess. Every model has a built-in LED to light the joint in dark corners, under cupboards and inside window reveals.
4. Cartridges and materials
Our cordless guns take standard sealant cartridges — the Makita-compatible model is listed for 300 ml cartridges. Use them for silicone, acrylic sealant, glazing compounds and construction adhesives. Always follow the cartridge manufacturer's guidance on curing and temperature.
5. Who uses them?
- Window fitters and glaziers — consistent beads round frames and glazing.
- Kitchen and bathroom fitters — clean silicone lines on worktops, baths and showers.
- Builders and roofers — construction adhesive and weather sealing.
- Property maintenance teams and DIYers — resealing and repairs without hand ache.
6. Tool only or kit?
If you already own two or more batteries for your system, the tool only is all you need. Otherwise a 2-battery kit gets you started, and 3 or 4-battery kits suit full days on site.
Tips for a neat finish
- Cut the nozzle at 45° to the width of bead you want.
- Clean the joint and make sure it's dry before you start.
- Keep a steady speed and angle, and tool the bead straight away.
- Release the trigger cleanly at the end of each run.
