Is tool only right for you?
Buy tool only if you already own at least two batteries and a charger for the same system. One battery can run the tool while the other charges. If you have just one battery, or none, a complete kit with 2, 3 or 4 batteries and a charger is the better buy.
Check your battery system
Tool-only products are made for one battery system. Match the tool to your batteries: DeWalt-compatible, Makita-compatible or Milwaukee-compatible. The system is in every product title.
High-draw tools and spare batteries
Blowers, saws, grinders and paint sprayers use power faster than drills and drivers. If you're adding one of these, a higher-capacity spare from batteries and chargers keeps you working while the other battery charges.
Upgrade later
Every tool-only product also comes as a complete kit. On each product page you can switch between tool only and 2, 3 or 4-battery kits to compare.
